Visiting Morocco

The 2020 International SBCC Summit will be held at the Palais des Congrès, Marrakech, located in the heart of Marrakech and just a short distance from the airport. A city rich in history, art and culture, Marrakech is located in Western Morocco, situated on the edge of the Sahara Desert. Inside Marrakech's medina there a maze of alleys and doorways, where visitors easily getting lost in the sights, smells and tastes of the former imperial city.

Accommodation is abundant in Marrakech ranging from unique and traditional riads and palaces, to three to five-star luxury hotels, to low budget hostels. A number of these hotels are within close proximity of the Palais des Congrès offering easy access the Summit. All hotels below will be on the Summit shuttle route.

Please be aware that visa regulations can change. The Moroccan Embassy or Consulate in participant's home country is the best source of up-to-date information.

The nationality of the participants will determine whether or not they are required to apply for a visa. Participants are requested to visit the official government website for more information. It is the participants' responsibility to investigate the visa requirements for Morocco and apply for a visa, if necessary.

Letter of Invitation

The SBCC Summit will be providing an invitation letter to assist with delegate visa applications. Participants do not need to reach out to us to request an official invite letter from the SBCC Summit for visa purposes, as these letters will be sent automatically after participants register and payment is received.

Visa Fees

The Moroccan Consulate website provides a table of fees. The cost for a visa application is approximately $23 USD. 

Entry Requirements and Vaccinations

  • Valid passport for six months following date of entry.

  • Tickets and documents for return or onward travel.

  • Vaccination: International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever required if arriving from infected area  within five days. 

Additional immunizations may be required or recommended; please visit a travel clinic.
