Mehdi Snène is a digital health expert and scientist whose research focuses on neuroscience, cognition, aging and machine learning. In July, he was appointed as interim CEO of the International Digital Health and AI Research Collaborative (I-DAIR).

He previously founded and managed a mental and brain health research laboratory at the University of Geneva with a large track record of national, European and international funding of diverse research projects.

He has been working on frontier technology in digital health, with a strong emphasis on quality of life and quality of end of life of patients diagnosed with neurodegenerative diseases. He has led several clinical trials in palliative care, rehabilitation care, and geriatric care with a particular interest in digital biomarkers of pain and discomfort.

At I-DAIR, he is in charge of the monitoring and development of a large multilateral research projects portfolio in partnerships with multiple international organizations such as the WHO, UNICC, UNITAR and ITU. He is leading, among other things, the development of a clinical research infrastructure for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing distributed across the Global South, the development of an immersive learning environment for AI/ML in medical schools, and the development of digital public goods and benchmarking for digital health and mental health.
