The most interesting stories in social and behavior change communication aren’t always the ones we expect. They’re the ones that challenge what we think we know.
At the 2026 International SBCC Summit, our “10-minute Stories That Flip the Script” sessions will spotlight bold, unexpected approaches to social and behavior change from communities and countries around the world. These aren’t polished success narratives. They are real, human stories that question assumptions, shift power, and open new possibilities.
Here are a few of the stories you’ll hear:
🎤 Voices we don’t usually center. When the messenger changes, everything shifts—from a sex worker redefining safer sex conversations to waste pickers claiming dignity and youth stepping into national decision-making.
🌍 Rethink who drives change. And how. From farmers in Nepal shaping antimicrobial resistance solutions through their own stories to citizens in Nigeria turning 60-second videos into evidence for health system accountability, these stories show what happens when change is led—not delivered.
💡 Challenge the systems behind the stories. What if financing gaps are actually behavior gaps? These stories reveal how power, norms, and systems drive outcomes, and how they can be reimagined.
🎧 Storytelling becomes strategy. From hotlines that spark 200,000+ conversations to music, film, and participatory video that travel through communities, these stories show how storytelling becomes a system for dialogue, ownership, and action.
Each story is just 10 minutes – but the ideas will stay with you far longer.
These sessions are about more than inspiration. They’re about reimagining what’s possible when we flip the script on who speaks, who decides, and what counts as evidence.
