The 2026 International Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) Summit promises to be the world’s foremost event for driving sustainable social and behavior change through cutting-edge strategies. As we gather, we will bring together voices and insights from communities around the world, breaking down harmful behaviors and boundaries, and creating a truly global dialogue to enable change and inspire us all.
Social and behavior change communication (SBCC) is an approach that promotes and facilitates changes in knowledge, attitudes, norms, beliefs and behaviors. It follows a systematic process to analyze a problem in order to define key barriers and motivators to change, and to design and implement a comprehensive set of interventions.
SBCC can be used to address the most pressing health and development challenges of today - from increasing use of modern contraception, to fostering gender equality, to addressing climate crisis.
The Summit will unite governments, civil society, community leaders, experts, practitioners, and the private sector to collaborate on innovative solutions that promote inclusivity, representation, and empowerment to address the world’s most critical challenges. Together, we will inspire and accelerate action, building partnerships that create lasting, effective change at both local and global levels.
After successful events in Ethiopia, Indonesia, and Morocco, it was essential to convene the SBCC community in the Latin America and Caribbean Region – a region with a rich history of SBCC programs and a growing cadre of young professionals. Panama City is welcoming us with open arms and is committed to ensuring maximum participation from attendees from around the world.
