Need to know: Shuttles, Registration and COVID Protocols

In just a few days, the 2022 International Social and Behavior Change Communication Summit will begin in Marrakech, Morocco, and we can’t wait!

Some things you need to know:

Shuttles

Free shuttles from the Marrakech airport to the Summit hotels will be available on Saturday, Dec. 3, and Sunday, Dec. 4, starting at 7 a.m. local time and running every hour until 11 p.m. At the end of the Summit, shuttles will be available to return to the airport starting on the evening of Friday, Dec. 9 and throughout the day on Saturday, Dec. 10.

From Dec. 4 through 9, shuttles to and from the Summit venue will be available for those staying at seven hotels: Mövenpick Marrakech, Ibis Gare Hotel, Radisson Blue, Kenzi Menara Palace, Kenzi Rose Garden, Le Meridien N’Fis and Grand Mogador Menara. A detailed list of departure and arrival times will be available at each hotel. Shuttles will be provided for morning and evening auxiliary events as well as the regular program schedule.

Registration and COVID Protocols

For attendees who booked their rooms through the SBCC Summit website, Summit registration will be available during your hotel check-in. You will need to provide proof of a COVID vaccine administered since March 2022 or a negative PCR test taken within the last 72 hours.

If you need to take a PCR test or are not staying at a hotel booked through the Summit website, you will need to visit the Palais des Congrès. Registration there is open Saturday, Dec. 3 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., and will reopen at noon on Sunday, Dec. 4, staying open until 5 p.m. It will also be open from 7 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 5, before the conference officially begins.

PCR tests will be available to anyone who needs one to gain entry to the Summit. The test will cost the participant $50 USD and all results will be available by 9:00 p.m. local time (or sooner) on the day they are administered. USD and MAD will be accepted, as will credit cards. Once a negative test result is provided, you can proceed with the registration.

Once a local medical staff technician confirms your COVID status, you will receive a card confirming you’ve cleared the COVID check. You can then hand it to one of the people managing the registration desk to receive your badge and conference bag.

See you soon!
