Dr. Fernando Boyd Galindo is a prominent Panamanian dental professional, recognized for his extensive experience in clinical practice, institutional management, professional training, and professional association leadership. He currently serves as Minister of Health of the Republic of Panama, a position from which he promotes policies aimed at strengthening the national health system, preventing disease, expanding access to health services, and integrating the public health system.
Throughout his career, he has held important leadership positions in professional, business, and social service organizations. He served as president of the Panamanian Dental Association, the Panamanian Academy of Prosthodontics and Occlusion, and the Dental Federation of Central America and Panama, contributing to the strengthening of the dental profession in the country and the region.
His commitment to national development also led him to actively participate in the country’s civic life as a coordinator and leader of the National Civil Society Crusade, representing health sector unions. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Social Security Fund on behalf of APEDE and has served on various private-sector boards of directors.
Since 1991, he has served as president of the Luz del Ciego Board of Trustees, reflecting his dedication to service and commitment to the most vulnerable populations.
His leadership is characterized by a humanistic vision, a firm commitment to excellence and continuous improvement, as well as his dedication to building a more efficient, inclusive, and people-centered healthcare system for the benefit of all Panamanians.
